Rolling Hills chimney sweep service inside the gates
For Rolling Hills, AAA Chimney Sweep is the family owned sweep and repair crew that plans each visit around the rules of a private city with three controlled gates and one acre lots. Put us on your guest list and the gate takes a minute.

How a visit works behind the gate
Add AAA Chimney Sweep to your guest list for the day. The Rolling Hills Community Association only lets workers in Monday to Saturday, 7am to 6pm, and every one shows ID.
So there are no Sunday visits inside the gates. Our phones are still answered every day. If we are missing from the list, the gatehouse calls you to approve us while the truck waits out of the entry lane, which eats into the booking if nobody picks up at the house. Nobody working comes in on a motorcycle or a bicycle. That rule is for the horses.
Lots start at one acre here, and some zones call for two. The city describes single story ranch homes with three rail fences and room for horses, some of them designed by Cliff May and Wallace Neff, and says about half of all the houses in Rolling Hills are more than 60 years old. Others have been replaced by far bigger ones.
A big lot can hold a guest house or a stable as well as the main house. If yours has a second fireplace, tell us when you book so we plan time for every flue.

Questions
Before you add us to the gate list
- What name do we give the gate?
- AAA Chimney Sweep, with the date of the visit. The crew shows a driver license at the gatehouse, which the association asks of every worker.
- Can you come on a Sunday?
- Not inside the gates. The association admits workers Monday to Saturday between 7am and 6pm. Call us on a Sunday and we will book the first weekday that works for you.
- We have a guest house with its own fireplace. One visit or two?
- One visit. Mention it when you book. Each chimney on the property gets its own sweep and its own inspection, whether it serves the main living room, a guest house across the yard or an outdoor fireplace by the pool.
- Does the fire zone change what goes on my chimney?
- Much of Rolling Hills is Very High on CAL FIRE's 2025 map, which the city adopted in June 2025. CAL FIRE's inspection guide calls for half inch spark mesh at the chimney outlet and branches cut ten feet back. We check both on every visit.
On the property
Three things we look at on a Rolling Hills ranch
-
A 1950s chimney on a 1950s house
City figures put 36 percent of homes in the 1950s. If nobody has touched that chimney since the house went up, its clay liner and its damper are about seventy years old and have been through every wet winter since. Seventy.
-
Embers and the barn
On a horse property the barn and the hay are fuel. A chimney without a screen can drop embers on either. A whole spark screen is a small part doing a big job.
-
Rebuilt homes with newer fireplaces
Replacement houses here average 6,000 to 9,000 square feet, per city permit records. Some carry gas or factory built fireplaces. Those need a different inspection from masonry.
